The BDC family always celebrates achievements of its entrepreneurial leaders and their role in transforming nations! We have great news to share on one of our graduates, Mr. Apollo Munanura, a graduate of BDC Rwanda Cohort 11.
On August 10th, 2016; Mr. Munanura was appointed by the Cabinet Meeting chaired by H.E President Paul Kagame, to become the new Director General of the Rwanda Cooperatives Agency (RCA).
“Rwanda Cooperative Agency” «R.C.A» is a public institution in charge of regulating and promoting cooperatives in the country; overseeing all economic, social, and other activities of the general interest. In an article published on RCA website (2015), the institution recorded a total number of more than 4,000 fully registered cooperatives and the number grows significantly each year. At the time, the shared capital of cooperatives in Rwanda was estimated to Rwf12 billion (Ref: http://www.rca.gov.rw/spip.php?article38).
Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Apollo Munanura served in the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) in various capacities; recently the Head of SME Division. He has been very supportive to the BDC’s core work of training and supporting local entrepreneurs to build successful businesses. He is an exceptional servant leader, a visionary and an achiever in all his undertakings.
